Noto
Elegant Baroque streets and a leisurely small-town rhythm. A lovely choice for café stops, terrace aperitivi, and evenings around the cathedral, with coastal outings to work into your holiday.
Catania
A livelier, more metropolitan base, with busy markets, shopping, and city evenings. It has a rich Sicilian character and historic centre of its own, plus the convenience of the nearby airport.
A place we love
Ragusa & Ragusa Ibla
Ragusa Ibla is our first suggestion for guests who want to settle into the atmosphere we love: historic streets, neighbourhood restaurants, and unhurried evenings. Walk around the Duomo di San Giorgio and the Iblei Gardens, or use Ragusa as a base to explore Modica and Scicli. Below are boutique hotels, B&Bs, and apartment options for different styles of stay.
Wedding-day planning: allow around 1½ hours to Xirumi as an initial estimate. Check the route from your exact lodging and plan your return journey in advance.
Ibla has hills, steps, and narrow streets. Ask your host about parking, luggage access, and any stairs before booking. Explore Ragusa’s sights.
Baroque streets & days by the sea
Noto
Stay for the wedding and linger for the sightseeing. Explore Noto’s cathedral and historic streets, meet family for a leisurely meal, or plan a day on the nearby coast.
Wedding-day planning: allow around 1½ hours as an initial estimate, then check your exact route to Xirumi. Choose Noto for the days you’ll spend enjoying the town as well as the celebration.
City energy & Sicilian culture
Catania
Choose Catania if you enjoy a bigger-city rhythm: explore Piazza Duomo, the fish market, and the city’s Baroque streets between meals and outings. It offers a more metropolitan experience than Ragusa Ibla or Noto, with plenty of history of its own.
The hotel below is in the La Playa beach area, rather than the historic centre. Consider where you want to spend your evenings when choosing between a city-centre and seaside stay.
